Prevention Resources
Our prevention team strives to promote safe and healthy lifestyles by reducing substance use and decreasing risk factors associated with antisocial behaviors. These efforts are driven by community centered evidence based practices. To help achieve this we have fully operating coalitions in Carbon and Grand counties that follow the evidence based Communities That Care and Strategic Prevention Frameworks. These efforts allow us to engage community leaders, members and organizations that all have the common goal of ensuring a safer and healthier community.

C.A.R.E. Coalition
(Carbon, Addiction Reduction, Elimination)
Healthy behavior in youth is a priority goal for the C.A.R.E Coalition. To achieve that behavior we use the Social Development Strategy. SDS is three simple steps, Opportunities, Skills, and Recognition, giving youth the opportunity to develop a skill and then recognize the skill development. This can be anything from learning to wash the dishes to fixing a motor.
The C.A.R.E Coalition believes in Carbon County's resiliency. Through thick and thin, Carbon County has remained a community that supports and empowers its youth. None of the C.A.R.E Coalitions efforts would be as successful if not for its community partners.

1Direction Prevention Coalition
The 1Direction Prevention Coalition enhances the well-being of families, children, and youth in Emery County by fostering connections and community involvement. We are committed to building a healthier, more supportive environment by moving in one direction together. Our mission involves offering resources, education, and advocacy through proven prevention strategies to reduce risks and nurture growth.
